The RPA Podcast | Automation Chat Show
On my RPA Chat Show, which is also known as RPA Podcast, I had an amazing conversation with Theertha K, an Automation Anywhere MVP and a Solutions Architect.
Introduction
In a world where technology is advancing at an unprecedented rate, developers must continually upskill themselves to remain relevant. One such field that has seen remarkable growth is Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
Let’s dive into his experiences and wisdom as he shares how developers, whether in RPA or any other technology, can stay ahead in the game.
The Beginning
Theertha’s Journey in the world of automation began in 2009 when he started as a .NET web application developer. Over the years, he gained experience in various technologies, including mobile application development, Windows Azure, and Dynamics CRM.
He was proficient in languages like VB.NET, C#, SQL, and more. His journey was characterized by adaptability and a hunger for learning. His experiences with different technologies laid a strong foundation for his later transition into RPA.
Discovering RPA
A Seamless Transition In 2017, Theertha decided to explore RPA as the field gained prominence. At that time, Automation Anywhere was the leading RPA tool, and he decided to learn it. Interestingly, his prior experience as a .NET developer made this transition remarkably smooth.
Many of the concepts in RPA, such as string manipulation and data table handling, were familiar to him. This shows that for developers with a programming background, moving into RPA can be a relatively easy transition.
The Evolution of RPA Tools
Theertha started his journey with Automation Anywhere’s Version 9, and over the years, he has witnessed the remarkable transformation of RPA tools.
Today, we hear about terms like “hyper-automation” and “intelligent automation” as RPA vendors incorporate AI and ML into their platforms.
While Theertha’s initial RPA journey focused on automating tasks like email and data manipulation, he now sees the shift towards more advanced automation, where tasks are processed by AI and ML models.
However, he emphasizes that even with the introduction of AI and ML, many processes can still be automated using earlier versions of RPA tools, showcasing their continued relevance.
Once you are a developer, you are always a developer.

Keeping Up to Date
Theertha’s journey in the RPA world illustrates, that staying relevant in the tech industry requires a commitment to continuous learning and adaptation.
Here are some of his valuable insights on how developers can keep up to date:
- Regularly follow your RPA platform’s official channels, webinars, and product release notes. These resources provide information on the latest features and updates.
- Leverage social media platforms like LinkedIn to connect with peers and stay updated on industry trends.
- Explore adjacent technologies like AI and ML to understand how they can be integrated into your RPA projects.
- Follow blogs and YouTube channels that offer demonstrations of new technologies and use cases.
The MVP Journey
In this video, Theertha has shared his entire experience and RPA journey along with giving insights on becoming an Automation Anywhere MVP.
Conclusion
Theertha’s journey from a .NET developer to a seasoned RPA professional is a testament to the importance of adaptability and a commitment to upskilling in the ever-evolving world of technology.
His insights on keeping up to date in the RPA industry can be applied to any field of development.
As he wisely puts it, “Once you are a developer, you are always a developer.” So, never stop learning, and embrace the changes that come your way.
